Life, Food and Agricultural Education through Experimental Studies of Dairy Farming

At Dairy Ecosystem Research & Development Center, Hiroshima University, crops grown with the blessings of the sun are used to raise livestock, which in turn provide milk, meat, and wool. The “Life, Food and Agricultural Education through Experimental Studies of Dairy Farming” is conducted with the cooperation of faculty members and farm technicians, utilizing this center. This exercise aims to provide participants with the opportunity to learn about the process of producing food sources and processing them into food products within the cycle of grass, livestock, and soil through lectures, practical training, and discussions. It also seeks to foster reflection on the interconnection between food, agriculture, and the environment, animal welfare, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the human existence sustained by the lives of other living beings.
